1. What is the Financial Intermediary Service?
The Financial Intermediary (F.I.) service assists people with disabilities to manage their Individual Support Package (I.S.P.) by paying for supports on their behalf in line with their approved funding plan.
We do this by:

Receiving the person’s funding directly from the Department of Human Services (DHS)

Setting up an individual ‘account’ for each person making payments to service providers and suppliers on the person’s behalf

Keeping track of the type and amount of expenditure for each person

Providing up-to-date information to the person about their expenditure and funds availability
